Cloud Accounting and Accounting Clouds are Here to Stay
The AICPA recently published a guidebook for implementing an accounting cloud web-driven practice, covering everything from hardware and Web bandwidth to scanning and transferring software to cloud accounting.
And at Cloud9 CEO Robert Chandler wrote “THE Book” on CPA practice cloud accounting and the private accounting cloud for professional practice and small businesses in general – Together In The Cloud is a definitive primer for all interested business owners and practice managers.
Firms need to have a comprehensive accounting cloud technology plan, according to one of the (AICPA) book authors John Higgins, because “it’s very easy to invest in the wrong [cloud accounting] solutions at the wrong time.” That can be expensive, both in terms of dollars and staff time lost, he added.
“The accounting profession has developed a good understanding of the concept of cloud computing, but not its value proposition,” Higgins adds. “Firms often have difficulty seeing the strategic value of [cloud accounting] technology.”
